Naval Air Station Oceana lies within the city limits of Virginia Beach, Virginia. Four military installations, Oceana, Little Creek, Fort Story, and Dam Neck, are located in Virginia Beach. The Hampton Roads area is considered to be a military town.

Our mission is to support the Navy’s Atlantic and Pacific Fleet Force of Strike Fighter Aircraft Joint/Inter-Agency Operations and to train and deploy the Navy’s strike-fighter squadrons, F/A-18 Hornets and the two H-3 Sea King helicopters that are assigned for search-and-rescue duties.
